Tibetan Elections 2021 and millennials expectations
#TibetElections2021 is a clear message to #Beijing that #Tibet might be under its control but Tibetans in exile are free. And given any chance, or opportunity, they prefer democracy.
The election was held to elect the 45 members of The 16th Tibetan parliament-in-exile (TPiE) and also for electing the Sikyong, for which eight members are contesting.
The previous government has done some exceptional works, the landmark achievement of which remains the successful passage of the Tibet Policy and Support Act (TPSA) of 2020 in the United States despite China’s protest; a decision that strengthened the American policy on Tibet and reaffirmed the government’s support for the Dalai Lama and the CTA.
And what does the millennials expect from their new Sikyong!
